Someone get Britney the number of a stylist... please!

The singer stepped out last night with her boyfriend, Jason Trawick, looking a multi-coloured mess.

Britney was wearing a pink patterned T-shirt, plum coloured cardigan, blue jeans, grey suede boots and a bight red handbag.

The 28-year-old topped off her tatty look with her usual messy hair, pulled back into a straggly ponytail.

Britney and Jason picked up some take-out from the Marmalade Cafe in Calabasas before heading back to the singer's home.

The singer recently made a return to work after a rest period. She is currently working in the studio on a follow up to her hit 2009 album Circus.

She's completed three new songs and is working on producing more, and she is said to be heading in a new direction with her music.

'It’s mind-bendy and trippy,' One Republic frontman and songwriter Ryan Tedder  said of the new album. 

'I applaud the label for saying, "We’re not going to do what’s always been done." I think Britney’s such an innovator.'

According to Billboard magazine, Dr Luke and Max Martin will act as the executive producers of the album, which is scheduled for a 2011 release.

Britney also recently made a return to acting with a much lauded guest appearance on the hit TV show Glee.

Parents groups were up in arms over what they described as it's 'explicit sexual content' but fans loved it and the episode brought in the highest ratings of the season.

Her appearance also garnered her a People's Choice Award nomination, for Favourite TV Guest star.

She is also nominated for Favourite Web Celebrity.
