While the star claims she was 'too busy' to attend Katy Perry's wedding..
Rihanna has revealed that her public split with Chris Brown was a 'wake-up call' following his assault on her last year.
The Only Girl (In The World) singer also claimed that she found their break-up difficult and struggled to come to terms that she was a victim of domestic violence.
RiRi told Marie Clarie magazine: "All this terrible stuff they say to you, it breaks you down. [But] once you're back on your feet - if you ever make it back on your feet - that's the ultimate achievement,"
"God has a crazy way of working, and sometimes when stuff happens you feel like, 'What did I do to deserve this? Why was it backfiring on me?'"
She explained: "I needed that wake-up call in my life. I needed a turning point, and that's what God was giving to me."
Meanwhile, reports have claimed that the Rude Boy hitmaker missed friend Katy Perry's wedding over the weekend because she was 'too busy' to attend the ceremony in India.
According to the Daily Star, the Barbadian beauty told Perry that she was 'in the recording studio, putting finishing touches to her album' instead.
A source told the tabloid: "Rihanna is really upset that she missed out on her best friend’s big day but feels Katy already had so many close friends there it would make little difference if she was there or not."
They added: "She’s texted Katy several times but hasn’t heard anything back yet. She’s been so busy working and decided she needs some time out. She thought Katy would understand.”
