In reality Kim Kardashian makes easy work sound hard

I'm sure in Kim Kardashian's world she is worth every penny of the $6m odd she made this year, which elevates her to the somewhat dubious position of being reality television's highest-paid star.

Of course she works hard for it -- those tampons won't promote themselves -- and I'm sure it takes a certain kind of diligence to tweet every vacuous, dim-witted, semi-literate thought she has (many of which are endorsements for products) to her near six million followers, or one for every dollar.

The list, compiled by the Daily Beast, measures people who have cashed in on fame versus their talent, so as you can imagine there was a lot of competition.

Kim heads a list of people you've probably never heard of, and hopefully never will, but which also contains two other members of the Kardashian clan (Khloe and Kourtney). Now there's a KKK to really fear.

But Kim remains the master of manipulation. This week alone she has split with her man ("My favourite part about being single is just that I can focus on work and not feel guilty"), announced she will no longer date American football players (she's started seeing a basketball player instead), revealed that she is not pregnant with Kanye West's child (I'm not sure anyone was suggesting she was) and, in a piece of advice surely aimed at her younger fans, she revealed that "hard work pays off" presumably referring to the kind of "hard work" she put in her 2007 sex tape which did so much to make her name.
