Joined by friends and family in the super VIP area of the Sin City hotspot, the “Hills” hottie sipped on champagne all night before being presented with a birthday cake.

Eva Longoria is refusing to let divorce stand in the way of her plans to adopt a child.

The Desperate Housewives actress, who split from her basketball star husband Tony Parker after finding out that he had been texting one of her girlfriends, wants to adopt a child from Haiti as a single mother.

Eva, 35, who married Parker in 2007, had spoken about adopting before the break-up.
Now friends say that she plans to press on – and follow the example of Sandra Bullock.

The Hollywood star divorced her cheating husband Jesse James but still continued the process of adopting a baby boy from New Orleans as a single mother.

‘Eva had her heart set on adopting a child from Haiti,’ says a source. ‘She so wants to be a mother. She wanted to adopt with Tony, but she’s happy to go ahead as a single parent and is very excited after what’s been a dark period.’

Haiti has become very close to Eva’s heart since the earthquake in January. She has immersed herself in fundraising work to help the devastated island.
In the past Eva has indicated that the sick Latino children she meets in her work with the California-based charity Padres Contra El Cáncer had inspired her to adopt.

‘Every time I work with kids from Padres, my heart explodes with happiness and joy. They’re so inspiring,’ she said. ‘I could only wish to have children as strong.’

Eva Longoria is divorcing Tony Parker, but that's not keeping her from possibly following Sandra Bullock's example after parting ways with Jesse James.  According to Babble.com, Eva Longoria just may go ahead and adopt a child from Haiti without Tony.

Before Eva filed for divorce from her soon-to-be ex-husband, the two were reportedly thinking about adopting a child from Haiti or another poor region of the world.  Thanks to Eva's big heart, she may just go ahead and adopt, much the same way Sandra Bullock did her baby son from New Orleans.

Eva works with the California charity, Padres Contra El Cáncer and a source reveals that she's been inspired to adopt.

“Every time I work with kids from Padres, my heart explodes with happiness and joy. They’re so inspiring,” Eva Longoria said. “I could only wish to have children as strong.”

Will the Sandra Bullock follow Sandra Bullock's example and adopt a lucky boy or girl from Haiti?  It may be the best way for her to get over the divorce and take on a new beginning as a loving mother.

Dawson Recruits Stars To Fight Arizona's Immigration Law In Psa


Actresses ROSARIO DAWSON, JESSICA ALBA and EVA LONGORIA PARKER have united to take a stand against new Arizona state immigration laws in a new public service announcement (PSA).

Dawson recruited Alba and Longoria Parker to join a host of Latin stars to fight the controversial legislation, which gives Arizona police new powers to arrest and detain anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant.

The PSA was recorded for the United We Win campaign, a collaboration between the Sin City star's Voto Latino organisation and cable TV network Mun2, to encourage young people to get involved and fight for civil rights.

In the ad, Longoria Parker says, "I haven't made it a secret that I'm strongly opposed to the Arizona law and I've been pretty vocal about it. It's unfortunate that this immigration issue has been on the national agenda for the past three administrations."

The Desperate Housewives actress fears the racial profiling will result in legal U.S. citizens being discriminated against simply because of the colour of their skin.

She says, "I think the biggest misconception is that everybody who is dark or of colour is from somewhere else. I'm ninth-generation American. I'm more American than a lot of my Anglo friends. If my father got pulled over because of the colour of his skin, I could guarantee you I would be outraged."

And Dawson wants the PSA, which will air in the U.S. in September (10), to send people to the polls when Arizona's general election is held on 2 November (10).

She tells UsMagazine.com, "We recognise that this isn't just a Mexican issue or a Latino issue... There are people blogging and Tweeting for everything, from the BP spill to education and healthcare.

"We're all buzzing about these things, but unless we're actually marching to the polls, nothing is going to actually change."
