Lauren Conrad's Blog: Book Tour Dates

I am excited to announce my book tour schedule for the 2nd book in my LA Candy series, "Sweet Little Lies".

I will be meeting fans and will autograph copies of my books.

If you plan on attending one of the book signings, please check with the book store in advance.

* Most of the stores will require you to have a ticket to get into the signing.
* Most of the stores will require you to purchase my book from their store,
either at the event or from their website.
* Unfortunately, no photos, memorabilia, or other items may be taken through the signing line. This slows down the line, and I want to make sure everyone gets their book signed.

* Some stores will allow photographs to be taken from the audience.

Hope to see you at one of these events:

Lauren Conrad To Pen Style Guide

She’s a successful TV star, fashion designer and fiction writer, but she hasn’t written a book on style — until now. Lauren Conrad will unveil her top style tips in Lauren Conrad Style, to be published by Harper Collins in the fall of 2010. The book will not only feature new and never-before-seen photos of the fashion icon, but the former MTV “Hills” star will show readers exactly how to interpret her classic and cool style into their lives. “I am really excited to write a style guide,” said Conrad, who designs an affordable clothing line for Kohl’s, in a release. “I think fashion should be fun and reflective of who you are. When you wear clothes you feel good in, it shows in everything you do. I know this guide will offer simple, practical tips to help anyone look fabulous.” This year, Lauren released her first book L.A. Candy, which was a #1 New York Times bestseller; her follow-up novel, Sweet Little Lies, goes on sale Feb. 2, 2010 (for more information on Sweet Little Lies and Lauren’s 10-city book tour, go to harperteen.com).

Lauren Conrad: Fairless Hills Hottie

Plugging away at her east coast book tour, Lauren Conrad was spotted out at Barnes & Noble in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania on Sunday (March 28).

The former "Hills" hottie greeted patiently waiting fans and signed copies of "Sweet Little Lies" as she continues to find success with her writing endeavors.

Having made the trip out east on Saturday morning, Miss Conrad spent the previous evening hitting up a local bookstore in Fairfax, Virginia.

Also working on a line of clothing with Kohl's, Miss Conrad told of the effort, "It's very much a California brand. It's all about incorporating new trends and putting our own twist on it — relaxed cool without trying too hard,"

She adds, "I have a few [favorite pieces]. I do a lot of basics, so we have a great blazer, a high-waisted black skirt and biker jacket and all those pieces can be traded throughout ... it's a lot of layering, a lot of switching-up, so you can get more mileage."

Lauren Conrad: Fabulous in Fairfax

Having touched down in Washington DC earlier in the day, Lauren Conrad was hot on the promotional trail in Fairfax, Virginia on Saturday evening (March 27).

Looking adorable, the former MTV reality star cheerfully signed copies of her book Sweet Little Lies at a local Borders bookstore.

Aside from her writing success, LC continues to expand her fashionable endeavors, having recently teamed up to release a line at Kohl's stores.

Talking about the effort with MTV News, Miss Conrad told, "It's very much a California brand.

Lauren Conrad Visits Southern Miss Bookstore

Lauren Conrad signed autographs at Barnes and Noble’s Southern Miss Bookstore Wednesday.

Conrad, of MTV’s “The Hills,” was in Hattiesburg promoting her New York Times bestselling book, “Sweet Little Lies.”

“I’ve never written a book before so it was a challenge,” Conrad said. “I’ve got two more books coming out in October. I’m going to try producing, my books are being turned into a movie, and I have couple of TV projects I’m working on.”

When she’s not writing, Conrad works with Mark cosmetics to raise awareness and funds for the m.powerment campaign.

Since the launch of m.powerment by Mark in fall of 2008, more than $400,000 has been raised to educate young women about abusive relationships.

Lauren Conrad will be at the University of Southern Mississippi bookstore on the Hattiesburg campus to raise awareness and funds for the "m.powerment by mark" campaign to fight dating and relationship abuse.

Conrad is coming because the store sold more than 100 Conrad-designed heart necklaces last October, beating several other colleges throughout the nation.

"When our students realized all of the money was going toward prevention of date rape, our sales went up, which is why we won the contest," Kathy Hayman, book store manager, said in a news release.

Conrad, the face of "mark" — Avon's newest line of cosmetics, fragrances and accessories for young women, said the campaign has raised $400,000 since it launched.

She will sign her latest book "Sweet Little Lies" from 12:30-2:30 p.m. To meet her, customers must purchase at least $22 in mark merchandise with all net proceeds going to the m.powerment campaign.

Seating for the Conrad question and answer session and signing is limited to 150 people. Her session with audience members begins at noon, followed by the book signing. For more information, call (601) 266-5170.

Lauren Conrad: Book Tour Cutie

Lauren Conrad appeared at a book signing Wednesday night for her new book, "Sweet Little Lies: An L.A. Candy Novel" at Copperfield's Books in Petaluma, CA.

The crowd, mostly pre-teen girls and young women in their early 20s, waited more than two hours to spend just a few moments with the former star of the TV series.

Lauren Conrad Dazzles in Denver

Traveling the country to boost interest in her second book, Lauren Conrad was busy greeting fans in Denver, Colorado on Friday evening (February 12).

Already topping the best-sellers list, the “Hills” hottie was all smiles as she signed copies of her book “Sweet Little Lies” at the Tattered Cover book store.

Meanwhile, LC recently chatted with MTV News about her Valentine’s Day plans, telling, “I’m not really a Valentine’s Day girl. I’m not big on celebrating it. I’ve never really had an amazing Valentine’s Day.”

She add, “I’m kind of the guy in that way. ... I’m home for the weekend. I don’t really do dinner because dinner reservations are hard to get. I just prefer takeout and a movie.”

Lauren Conrad: Another Bestseller

She struck gold with her debut novel “LA Candy,” and now Lauren Conrad has done it again with her new release “Sweet Little Lies.”

The “Hills” hottie’s second book has topped the New York Times bestseller list, and she couldn’t be happier about it.

Lauren explained, “It’s so gratifying for my second book to be so successful and it was so fun to write! The characters were already developed so I really enjoyed the process so much more this time around. All the characters have become like my friends now.”

And as it turns out, being an author is much more laid back than her Reality TV gig. “I just sat in bed writing and it was the best process. Who gets to work from home in their PJ’s?”

Is Sweet Little Lies All About Lauren's Sarcasm?

Lauren Conrad knows a thing or two about selling books. Her first novel, L.A. Candy, became an international bestseller, and now she's hoping for a repeat with her follow-up, Sweet Little Lies. So what's her secret to success? Great marketing and, of course, the decision to write about what she knows.

"I got to have fun with it," Lauren revealed yesterday at a book signing in Miami (CLICK HERE FOR PICTURES). "[A]nd, in a way, tell a similar story as far as things you go through ... without spilling [all my] secrets." But that doesn't mean she's keeping Candy fans completely in the dark.

"Jane is the main character and most like me," Lauren admitted. "But also when I was more sarcastic and against the The Hills, I was able to illustrate that through Scarlett, her best friend."

Lauren: Life After Reality TV "Less Stressful"

Former reality TV starlet Lauren Conrad said last night that life after the "Hills" has been much more care-free than her days in the searing spotlight.

"It is a lot less stressful," she said during a Miami book signing Wednesday night. "You don't have to worry so much about the way you look or what you're wearing or what you're saying. You can breathe. ... I have time to do a lot of stuff that I couldn't do before."

Conrad offered a glimpse into her life off the small screen during a tween-packed signing at Books & Books last night for her new tome "Sweet Little Lies," a follow-up to New York Times-bestseller "LA Candy," which is loosely based on her life.

But don't expect Conrad to use her books as a way to dish on all the juicy details that went on behind the scenes.

"I think the main difference between my life and the books I write are that I made up people and I made up situations," she said

"I got to have fun with it, and, in a way, tell a similar story as far as things you go through and things you experience and what's it's like -- without spilling other secrets."

Even as other MTV reality shows such as "Jersey Shore" enjoy success, Lauren appears to be enjoying a somewhat low-key life in which she now has time to work on creating a clothing line and spend vacation time with her boyfriend, "My Boys" star Kyle Howard.

But what if MTV conjured up a "Hills" meets "Shore" spin-off?

"No, but I would watch it," she said.

Lauren Conrad: Book Signing Sweetheart

Continuing her successful career as an author, Lauren Conrad was spotted promoting her new book “Sweet Little Lies” in Miami, Florida yesterday (February 10).

The “Hills” hottie looked a bit tuckered out as she signed copies of her latest work at Books & Books in Coral Gables, sporting a pretty patterned dress with a black headband.

Miss Conrad has been going nonstop for quite some time, and relied on several cans of Red Bull to keep peppy for her fans.

“Sweet Little Lies” is the follow-up to Lauren’s best-selling debut book “LA Candy,” as she makes her transition from Reality TV starlet to uber-popular wordsmith.
