Lauren was quoted recently saying that not only has Lo taken acting classes, but that Lo was also her first pick for the flick. L.A. Candy is being made for the big screen by the producers of Twilight.
"It was more of a joke than anything," Lo explained to us the other day at Jumpstart and the Pearson Foundation's National Read for the Record Day event in L.A.
"We were on the red carpet together and they were like, 'Who do you want to be in the movie?'" she said. "I would love to make a cameo, but I don't think I could handle a big role because I'm not an actress. A cameo would be really fun."
Not so fun anymore? The Hills…
"For me, it's turned into much more of a job," Lo griped about MTV's pseudo-reality series. "Before, it was a lot of fun for me. Now it's kind of like a daily grind where before it was lighthearted and easy."
Her future with the show is up in the air.
"I haven't totally decided," Lo said when asked about signing up for another season. "I have some other projects that I'm working on."

Nope, it's not Hemingway or F. Scott Fitzgerald who moves her. The Hills hottie and L.A. Candy author gets her literary inspiration from none other than E!'s own Chelsea Handler.
"I love people who can bring their voice into the story," the starlet told OK! magazine this past weekend. "I just read both of Chelsea Handler's books and I love them because you can hear her voice in there. I think that's really great that you bring personality to story."
Ironically, one of L.C.'s frenemies, Kristin Cavallari appears on Chelsea Lately this week accusing Conrad of not having a personality.

After checking out the upscale department store’s selections, the MTV reality star gal pals toted a few large shopping bags of purchases out to their nearby car.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, Miss Conrad is currently eyeing the producer role as she tries to get L.A. Candy adapted for the big screen.
Talking about the former MTV reality star’s hopes, a source tells People magazine: “Lauren’s goal is to get into producing – it always was. It was always to make L.A. Candy into a film or TV show. She’s been in talks about it”

The former reality star has revealed that a celluloid adaptation of her roman à clef novel, L.A. Candy, could be in the works very soon.
"We're hoping for a movie deal," Conrad told us while hosting the Pool After Dark party at Harrah's. "I'm working on [adapting the book for the movies] right now, but I don't want to commit to anything until I see all my options. We have had a lot of exciting news in that respect, though."
As for casting, Conrad has no clue. "I haven't even thought about it," she confessed. And we know what that means - Conrad could be playing ... herself! Er, we mean the protagonist, Jane Roberts - a girl who moves to Hollywood, gets her own reality show and ends up working at an events company, à la Conrad herself.
But is LC writing her own stories? Frenemy - and former Laguna Beach co-star Kristin Cavallari - recently said she thought "L.A. Candy" may have been ghostwritten. "Lauren says she wrote it, but I don't know," Cavallari laughed. "Writing a book is not so easy."
A stone-faced Conrad retaliated: "I wrote my book, and I don't really feel the need to defend it. I've been writing forever. I have never written anything professionally before, so this was a big step for me. [Writing] was always my best subject in school, and it's something I've always loved to do.”

How else do you explain Cavallari getting a two-season deal on MTV's hit pseudo-reality show?
That's right. Cavallari, 22, told us yesterday she'll be around a lot longer than the 10 episodes that were originally announced.
"I'm signed for two seasons," she said while promoting her new DVD flick Van Wilder Freshman Year at the Jack LaLanne juicer-sponsored Silver Spoon House in Malibu. "We'll see how it goes, but that's probably all I'll really want to do."
But it's not like Cavallari wants to be Conrad 2.0…
Cavallari said she has no plans to try to knock Conrad's young adult novel L.A. Candy off the New York Times best-seller list. "It hasn't even crossed my mind, she said when asked if she has similar literary aspirations. "So I don't think so."
Meanwhile, Cavallari also revealed that she put on a little too much weight while filming Van Wilder. "I had been in Atlanta for two months, eating fast food and whatever the hell I wanted," she explained. "I completely let myself go."
For a lingerie scene, she begged the filmmakers to let her wear a corset. "They wouldn't let me," she said. "They ended up having to cut the scene down a lot. Not kidding. It's a lot shorter than it was supposed to be. I was definitely 10 pounds heavier."

Her first book for teens, L.A. Candy, has topped The New York Times best-seller list for children’s chapter books for two straight weeks.
Conrad, 23, who left the show in May, has a deal to write two more books about the characters. She talked with The Associated Press about L.A. Candy, paparazzi and frenemy Heidi Montag Pratt’s faith.
AP: People are going to read this book and look for similarities in your life but you say it’s fiction, right?
Conrad: It’s very similar to my lifestyle and the experience that I went through as far as, you know, emotionally and just the changes that just happened in my life but as far as specific experiences it’s different. All the things that happened in this book were made up.
AP: What did you learn about writing a book?
Conrad: The deadlines can be stressful because it’s kind of a forced creativity. You want to take your time and the publisher’s like, ‘Yeah, but we’re gonna need it in like a week.’ I kind of felt my first draft needed to be perfect, and I learned as I went along you can make changes and figure it out along the way.
AP: Heidi Montag Pratt was very vocal about her faith on “I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here,” which we never saw on “The Hills.” Was she always that religious when you were roommates?
Conrad: She was religious definitely. I don’t think she was as vocal about it but, yeah, I remember she usually had a Bible by her bed.
AP: There are pictures of you every week in the tabloids. Do you feel a pressure to always look presentable when you leave the house?
Conrad: I used to get stressed over it. I moved actually to a different area. In our old home we had anywhere up to six cars waiting full of photographers outside. If I wanted to walk my dog, run out to the grocery store real quick, it was like a thing. I remember there were days I felt I couldn’t leave the house ... I don’t really care as much anymore.
AP: What’s it like to be in line at the grocery store and see your face on the cover of a magazine?
Conrad: I try to ignore it unless it says something bad and then I’m like, ‘Bummer! I just wanted to get produce.’ (Laughs.)
AP: At what point did you realize with all the things you’ve gotten to do that your life had taken an extraordinary turn?
Conrad: It still surprises me every day. It’s still surreal. You can’t help but feel lucky that I got to do so much for just being me.
AP: You have a deal to write two more books but what else do you want to do?
Conrad: I really, really want to produce. That’s the top of my to-do list.
AP: Do you keep in touch with anyone from “The Hills”?
Conrad: Lo (Lauren Bosworth) is still my roommate and I speak regularly with Stephanie Pratt (Spencer Pratt’s sister) and Whitney Port is a very good friend.

I played around with many ideas for a book. first I wanted to write a “how to date” book. but after speaking with Harper Collins we really narrowed it down and decided for my first book it would be best to write what I know.
Are there any plans for this book to be a part of a series?
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from your Hollywood and Laguna Beach experience?
To stay true to who you are and follow your dreams.
Did you have acting aspirations or did the Laguna Beach show find you?
No I never wanted to be an actress and still don’t. The producers at MTV found me at my high school.
We hear you have a clothing line going to Kohls. What type of style is it and for what age?
Yes the line will be out in October and I am so excited. It has a bit of everything from t shirts to dresses to blazers and jeans.
You have a terrific fashion sense. What is the one must have piece for the summer?
I think a great dress that can take you to the beach when paired with flats and take you to dinner when paired with heels is always a must.
Our readers are always interested in new music. What type of music do you listen to today and any particular bands or artists you like right now?
I like the site Pandora.com for music
How do you stay grounded and good in the fast moving world of L.A.?
I am still close with the friends I grew up with and my family. Never forget your roots.
