latest single Waking Up In Vegas, and did so with an extremely over-the-top performance that blended her talented singing with a lot of colorful costumes that may have caught viewers off guard. Perry herself wore a form of an Elvis costume, created just for her to dance around on the stage.
When Katy Perry first came out on stage, she was wearing a cape with Adam Lambert's name on the back, and immediately she drew some controversy about advertising for one of the final contestants. It's not really that big of a deal, but those favoring the other two contestants could have become frustrated about the little plug. With the final three being voted on this week on American Idol, it had come down to a battle of Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, and Danny Gokey to see who would make the final two. By the end of the night, Danny Gokey had been eliminated, setting up a final showdown between Kris Allen and Adam Lambert next week on American Idol.

Katy Perry was born on October 25, 1984, in Santa Barbara, California USA. Though, just 23, she has been writing songs and playing guitar for several years and possesses the flair and confidence of a veteran storyteller.
Her debut single, "Ur So Gay", came out in November 2007, a cross-country trek on the Vans Warped Tour followed in the summer 2008 while Perry's first album "One Of The Boys" was released in June; it includes The Billboard Hot 100 #1 smash single "I Kissed A Girl".
