LADY GaGa was photographed with fashion designer Giorgio Armani over the weekend.

Starting in February 2011 and including appearances in Milan on the 4th and 5th December 2010, GaGa will wear a series of outfits specially created for her by Giorgio Armani.

The superstar singer’s wardrobe will include a structured body with pronounced shoulders, totally embroidered with diamanté, a multi-colored body in diamanté with ribbon-work creating a lobster-inspired effect on the front and sleeves, a mini dress cut geometrically with a mirror finish, and a long trench in black patent leather.

All these looks are complemented by special accessories — shoes and eye-wear — also designed by Giorgio Armani, according to a press release.

Recent reports claimed GaGa will only wear silk underwear.

“She’s so in love with the way it feels on her body, she’s demanded every piece of lingerie be made from 100 per cent pure silk,” a source said.

“Polyester, cotton and Lycra are all banned. The finest silk, made to order, is all she’ll wear now.

“She really believes this will help her creativity because if she feels comfortable and her skin is able to breathe properly, she’ll be able to concentrate on her music.”

The Paparazzi hitmaker has spent an estimated $14,000 in replacing all her old underwear with silk garments but doesn’t mind about the cost.

“She’s taking this latest fetish seriously and driving her assistant crazy,” the source added.

“Some garments go for £70 a pair and because she’s kitted out the entire underwear section of her wardrobe, it’s cost her close to $15,000.

“She’s successful enough to demand anything she wants, even if it’s silky pants.”

In many ways the appointment mirrors Dolce & Gabbana's casting choice for its own cosmetics line - the equally pouty and curvaceous movie star Scarlett Johansson, and both girls have a distinctively-retro sex appeal, resembling movie stars from a bygone era  (is it just us, or does Megan Fox look like the Ava Gardner to Johansson's Marilyn Monroe?)

A spokeswoman for the designer told WWD that Mr Armani chose the actress for the beauty campaign, because “she embodies the spirit of the women of today: free, confident and seductive. Her beautiful features reveal femininity, sensuality and strength.” The images for the campaign were shot by photographer Craig McDean, with makeup by Linda Cantello, and will debut in October. 

Fox's year keeps getting better. She recently married her long term boyfriend,“Beverly Hills, 90210” actor Brian Austin Green, in beachside ceremony in Hawaii; has just finished starring in Passion Play, a period drama alongside Mickey Rourke and Bill Murray; and has been named as the superheroine star of a forthcoming comic book adaptation, Fathom.
