Britney Spears' long road from 'Star Search' to the 'Circus'

The roller coaster ride that is Britney Spears arrives in Chicago today for two concerts, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Allstate Arena.

Britney’s all dolled up in top hats and bustiers on her tour supporting the acclaimed “Circus” album.

Tickets, believe it or not, are still available for each night’s show, at ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $39.50-$750.

Britney’s personal life has been its own circus in recent years. It’s been a long road for Ms. Spears from “Star Search” to the current “comeback” tour. Here is our round-up of the major events thus far in the center ring that is Britney’s life.

Britney Concert held Up in Smoke

Britney Spears put a halt to her concert in Vancouver on Wednesday after smoky conditions at the venue she was playing made her feel "unsafe"

The latest stop on Britney Spears' Circus tour featured a little too much smoke and not enough mirrors.

The pop star has issued an apology to ticket holders of last night's Vancouver show after smoky conditions on stage led to a 30-minute delay of the concert—a delay that came just three songs in after Spears walked off stage without explanation, leaving the crowd to sit (and boo) in the dark arena.

"The building is awfully smoky," an announcer finally explained to the sold-out crowd, per the Vancouver Sun. "It's become uncomfortable and unsafe for the performers, including Ms. Spears.

"Please extinguish all cigarettes....The show will resume as soon as the air around the stage is clear."
