Reality star Kim Kardashian went to El Paso last week to promote an event that was raising proceeds for victims of domestic violence.  It is a cause that's dear to Kim's heart after she endured domestic abuse at the hands of her ex-husband.
Kardashian came clean earlier this spring that she was a victim of domestic violence during her marriage to Damon Thomas.  She eloped with her former music producer husband at the age of just 19.  He became abusive only a few months after the couple married.
Court documents from 2003 show that Kardashian was often bruised and battered from Thomas getting violent.  He punched her in the face, slammed her against walls and even threw her across the room.

Kardashian endured Thomas' abuse for three years; he filed for divorce in 2003.  In the divorce, he was ordered to give Kardashian a lump sum of $56,000.  More about Kim's abuse here.
