Borrowing from In Touch is never a good sign.
That’s what the National Enquirer does with an absurd item linking Britney Spears to Mel Gibson. Previously, In Touch had tried a similar tack, claiming the scandalized actor-director was “pouring his heart out” to Spears during numerous nighttime phone calls.
But the Enquirer takes things to the next level, reporting that it’s Spears who is reaching out to Gibson, leaving prayers on his voice mail and calling him daily with reminders of his support during her rough 2008.
“She’s convinced that he’s listening to her prayers, and those prayers will now help him,” a “source” tells the tabloid, which calls Spears Gibson’s “guardian angel.”
And not only does Spears empathize with Gibson’s experience of being “dragged through the mud,” says the Enquirer source, “She also sees Oksana [Grigorieva] as a user who had a baby with Mel for money and fame. She believes Oksana is playing the victim, just like her ex-husband Kevin Federline did.”
We have to admit that we did NOT anticipate seeing Kevin Federline’s name pop up in the Mel Gibson firestorm.
In any case, the bogus story about Spears throwing Gibson a line is no more accurate than the one about Gibson pouring out his heart. A source very close to the pop superstar she and Gibson are not in contact.
We can’t wait to hear about a blossoming Grigorieva-Federline friendship.
